What To Expect on Your First Visit:

That first visit to a church can be so awkward - we know that's true, and we want to do everything we can to lessen that awkwardness.  Some churches can give the impression that only a select few are welcome.

Paris doesn't operate this way! If this is your first visit, it's been a while, or you're a regular attender - you are welcome!  Below are a few of the things we've been told people want to know BEFORE they step foot inside a new church.  If you have a question that isn't answered, please contact the church office at 231-796-7771

WORSHIP SERVICE - Our service is informal and traditional.  We are a small church, but we love to gather together on Sunday mornings for worship.

"DRESS CODE" - Dress is comfortable - some folks in will be suits and others in jeans, most everyone else will be in something in-between.  Occasionally one of our pastors will wear a fancy preaching robe, but that's usually because something special is happening in the service.

PARKING - When you pull up to the church, you'll notice that there is no paved parking lot, instead we park in the grass on either side of the handicap ramp, or in the lot across the street.  These spaces are plowed regularly in the winter, and the good news is there's plenty of lawn - and definitely enough room for your car!

CHILDREN - At Paris UMC, we encourage children to be present with their families during the worship service.

GIVING - Giving is not a requirement at Paris Church, but if you choose to give we do offer a time during our worship service where we receive offerings (cash or checks only at this time).

COMMUNION - We are a United Methodist Church, and in the UMC tradition, we practice open communion, which means you do not have to be a member of this church or any church to partake in this holy meal.

At United Methodist Ministries of Mecosta County we affirm the sacred value and dignity of every individual as beloved creations of God. Our faith community is dedicated to creating a hospitable and welcoming environment where all people, regardless of their background, identity, or beliefs, are treated with love and respect.
